Dr. Alyssa A. Young
Owner, Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist
Alyssa is an African American and Mexican American biracial woman who takes great pride in her diverse heritage. She is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist and who recently received her doctorate degree at Antioch University New England (AUNE). In addition to her studies, Alyssa works at Friends University as the Clinical Director and Assistant Professor of MFT. She is AAMFT Approved Supervisor, who enjoys supervising master level students and post-graduate students.. Alyssa is deeply passionate about advancing mental health support for Black and Latino/a/x communities and is dedicated to addressing the unique challenges they face. On a personal level, she loves spending quality time in the comforting presence of her family and finds joy in relaxing next to the beach whenever she has the opportunity to escape from the hustle and bustle of life in the Midwest.
Ashley believes every person is worthy of compassion, connection, and the opportunity to grow. Even during life’s most difficult seasons, she believe’s people are more than the challenges they face, and that healing is possible. Ashley’s goal is to create a warm, welcoming space where you feel safe to share your story as we work together toward meaningful and lasting change.
She enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families navigating grief, loss, major life changes, relationship challenges, anxiety, and depression. Together, we’ll build on your strengths, deepen your understanding of yourself and your relationships, and move toward a life that feels more connected, authentic, and fulfilling.
